If I had done this I would hope that:

1. I was in Texas.
2. I was a well-connected Guvmint Official.
3. The castle doctrine's effective date would be nudged up a bit for my benefit but that no aggressive District Attorney would decide that my case justified a jury trial to "test" the castle doctrine.

Based on his vote Rep. Borris Miles seems to have a low opinion of those whom he represents, not an uncommon attitude of our elected "lawmakers". :shifty:

Of course the story is short of details but I'd have kept my distance and called 911. Now where the heck did that pocketknife go?

The use of deadly force in a property crime?

The shooter left the second floor to confront the thieves on the first floor?

One of the thieves threw a pocket knife?

The shooter wounded a thief in the leg?

The ice looks kinda thin. (Maybe the ice gets thicker with more details.)

Avoidance and 911 sounds good. (I'm kinda confused about the rest of it.)

Best regards,
Best regards,

Hmmm.......... This guy is a real piece of work. He has his CHL, and votes against laws to protect yourself. In doing so he voted to give himself less ability to protect himself and then shoots a guy in the leg for stealing copper wire? Umm...do as I say not as I do?
We took the rope from the army, eagle from the air force, anchor from the navy, and on the 7th day we over ran God's perimeter and took the world
